MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Two deadly boat crashes in less than a week on Biscayne Bay are under investigation.
The Miami Herald reported on Sunday that a woman lost her life after a boat lost control near the Nixon Sandbar on Saturday morning.
Authorities said they pulled two people from the water during that crash.
A woman who was taken to the hospital as a trauma alert sadly did not survive.
That crash comes after the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said a different boat was a part of a deadly hit-and-run on Wednesday.
The 40-to-43-foot boat slammed into a seven-foot dinghy, leaving a 14-year-old boy injured and his 55-year-old father dead.
That man later identified as Davide Veglia.
Authorities are hoping someone can identify the boat that killed Veglia.
