The Miami Herald reported on Sunday that a woman lost her life after a boat lost control near the Nixon Sandbar on Saturday morning.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission later confirmed that a woman, identified as Claudia Balmaseda Orellanes, along with boat operator Neil Schwabe, were both thrown into the water and struck by an unmanned vessel.

Authorities said both were pulled from the water by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue; Schwabe, 54, was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment while Orellanes, 33, was deceased when she was recovered from the water, officials said.

That crash comes after the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said a different boat was a part of a deadly hit-and-run on Wednesday.

The 40-to-43-foot boat slammed into a seven-foot dinghy, leaving a 14-year-old boy injured and his 55-year-old father dead.

That man was later identified as Davide Veglia.

Authorities are hoping someone can identify the boat that killed Veglia.
