MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A 17-year-old boy is being charged as an adult following a February drive-by shooting in southwest Miami-Dade that injured another teen, Local 10 News learned Thursday.

Online jail records show Adrian Negron Vega was booked into the Metrowest Detention Center Wednesday on an attempted murder charge.

According to Miami-Dade sheriff’s deputies, Negron Vega was 16 at the time of the Feb. 18 shooting near Southwest 152nd Avenue and Southwest 80th Street.

Deputies said Negron Vega and 17-year-old Camilo Buritica were inside a black Honda Civic when a dash camera captured them arguing with the 15-year-old victim and another teen.

The report states that shortly after the confrontation, the front passenger is seen extending his arm out of the window while holding a black firearm and firing several shots before the car sped away.

Investigators said Buritica confessed to driving the Civic. During questioning, he told detectives that Negron Vega was the one who fired the shots, an arrest report stated.

According to the report, during questioning, Negron Vega claimed he was home at the time of the shooting and denied any involvement.

The victim, identified as Eydam Ramos, was shot in the right shoulder and left ankle, but survived his injuries.
