POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — Authorities in Broward County are investigating a death.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 1600 block of North Dixie Highway in Pompano Beach after receiving reports of a body in the road.

Upon arrival, deputies found a man who had been shot. That man was pronounced deceased at the scene, authorities said.

BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units were called to investigate the death.

Authorities have not identified the person who was found dead.

The 1600 block of North Dixie Highway had been shut down for around four hours overnight, but the roadway has since reopened.
