A woman is behind bars for a shooting that occurred in Lauderhill.

It happened on March 27 along the 1800 block of 31st Avenue in Lauderhill.

According to police, Melneisha Oliver, 32, is facing an attempted first-degree murder charge after shooting an ex-boyfriend.

Police said Oliver obtained a gun from a friend, then later observed her ex in a car, walked up to it and opened fire.

The victim survived and told police he wished to prosecute Oliver, authorities said.

She is also facing a charge of possession of a weapon by a felon.

Oliver is being held at the Paul Rein Detention Facility on no bond.
