MIAMI — A 24-year-old woman was arrested Sunday after she struck a man on the head with a glass picture frame at the popular Kiki on the River Mediterranean restaurant in Miami, authorities said.
According to an arrest report from the Miami Police Department, Sophia Grace Majher, of Miami, and several people in her party were being escorted out of the venue on North River Drive shortly after 10:30 p.m. by security personnel and staff members when the attack occurred.
Police said the victim was helping escort the “unruly party” out of the business when Majher approached him from behind and struck him on the back of the head with the picture frame.
According to the report, an off-duty officer working at the restaurant witnessed the group being escorted out and then saw the victim standing nearby with blood dripping from a wound on his head, covering his face and soaking his clothing.
Police said the victim appeared distressed and was holding a cloth to his head in an attempt to control the bleeding.
The victim was treated at the scene by Miami Fire Rescue personnel, but it’s unclear whether he was also taken to the hospital.
Police said the attack was captured on surveillance video.
Majher was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
She appeared in bond court Monday where she was ordered held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $2,500 bond. The judge also ordered that Majher stay away from the victim and from Kiki on the River.
