MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Newly released dashcam video shows a drive-by shooting in southwest Miami-Dade that left a 15-year-old seriously injured and hospitalized.
The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office released the footage captured on the afternoon of Feb. 18th in the area of Southwest 152nd Avenue and 76th Street.
Authorities said the video was taken from inside a vehicle behind a black Honda Civic that the gunfire originated from.
Investigators say then-16-year-old Adrian Negron Vega and 17-year-old Camilo Buritica were in that sedan and arguing with two young men outside the vehicle.
Video shows the two juveniles walking away when police said Negron Vega pointed a black gun out of the passenger window and opened fire on the two before the car sped away.
Deputies said the 15-year-old victim was shot in the right shoulder and left ankle.
Negron Vega was ultimately arrested and charged as an adult with attempted murder.
Investigators said Negron Vega claimed he was home at the time of the shooting, but that Buritica confessed to driving the Civic and admitted that Negron Vega fired the shots.
