Broward woman accused of slapping baby across face

Ashley Session (BSO)

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies based in Pompano Beach arrested a woman after she slapped her ex’s baby daughter across her face, according to court documents obtained by Local 10 News on Friday.

Investigators said the incident happened on April 14 and Ashley Briana Session, 32, of Fort Lauderdale, was taken into custody on Wednesday in the 5300 block of North Dixie Highway.

According to a BSO arrest report, Session threatened to slap the baby girl and then followed through, hitting her across the face. Deputies said it caused her to “scream out and cry in pain” and left her face “red and slightly puffy.”

The report indicates that she also slapped her ex as he held the girl ― and as she held the son they share together.

According to the report, “Session has a long-standing ill feeling towards” the baby, “who is from another relationship that (her ex) has with his present girlfriend.”

Investigators said that two people, whose identities were redacted, said that Session “often” calls the baby a “b----” and a “whore.”

Court records show Session now faces child abuse and battery charges and was given a $5,500 bond. She no longer appears in Broward jail records as of Friday.
