DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. — A 31-year-old man was arrested Thursday afternoon after he carjacked a BMW at a gas station in Deerfield Beach, authorities said.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the carjacking was reported at about 12:30 p.m. at a Chevron gas station located at 1277 W. Hillsboro Blvd.
Deputies said the agency’s V.I.P.E.R. (Violence Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response) Unit and Aviation Unit located the stolen vehicle a short time later and conducted a “PIT maneuver” on the vehicle in the area of 3400 W. Sunrise Blvd.
The driver, identified as Antonio Laazaro Dominguez, was then taken into custody,
He faces charges of carjacking, aggravated fleeing with injury or damage and probation violation.
As of Friday morning, he was being held at the Broward County Main Jail without bond.
