BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — A 34-year-old woman was arrested Thursday by the Broward Sheriff’s Office in connection with a murder that occurred earlier this year, authorities confirmed.
Online jail records show Nadine Hernandez is charged with accessory after the fact in the case of a capital felony.
Prosecutors said court that Hernandez learned that her boyfriend and his friend committed a murder in Broward County and then drove from Texas to Florida to pick them up and drive them back to Texas.
Once in Texas, she is accused of helping them evade law enforcement, including by advising them on what to tell police about the vehicle used in the crime and how to conceal it.
According to BSO, deputies responding to the West Broward Boat Ramp located at 3451 N. U.S. 27 on the morning on Sunday, Feb. 1, found a deceased man inside a vehicle.
That man was later identified as 22-year-old Hunter Howell, and detectives ruled his death a homicide, saying they believed he was killed the previous day on Jan. 31.
After an extensive investigation, detectives identified Jayden DeJesus, 19, of Miami and Trevon Quinones, 19, of Forney, Texas, as suspects in the murder.

According to deputies, investigators discovered that Howell made a living selling marijuana, and that DeJesus and Quinones had driven Howell around while working due to Howell not having a vehicle of his own.
Additionally, deputies said all three were known to visit the boat ramp area, primarily on Sunday’s, “to listen to loud music from vehicles equipped with speakers.”
Both suspects were taken into custody in February following a traffic stop in Kaufman County, Texas. It’s unclear when they will be extradited to South Florida.
A motive for the killing has not been released.
