MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A 58-year-old woman was arrested last week after she assaulted a driver and struck the hood of his vehicle during a road rage incident, Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies said.

According to an arrest report, the incident happened last Tuesday in the area of Southwest Eighth Street and 87th Avenue.

Deputies said Roxana Castaneda, of Miami, followed the victim’s vehicle for several blocks before they both stopped at a traffic light.

Castaneda then exited her vehicle, struck the hood of the victim’s car, causing a small dent, and then reached into the victim’s vehicle through his front passenger-side window and struck his hand, authorities said.

Deputies said she then fled the scene.

According to the report, the victim, who was not injured, recorded most of the incident with his cellphone.

His vehicle sustained about $300 in damage, authorities said.

According to the report, Castaneda, who is a nail technician, was arrested Friday at the Baby Nail Bar, located at 1305 SW 107th Ave.

The report states that as she was being transported to the Midwest Station, she asked what she was being charged with and then said, “Is it because I reached into the car? I reached out for his phone. If I would have not reached for his phone, would all of this have happened?”

Once at the station, she invoked her right to remain silent and refused to provide a statement, deputies said.

Castaneda faces charges of burglary with assault or battery and criminal mischief.

As of Monday morning, Castaneda remained held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $150 bond.
