SOUTH MIAMI, Fla. — Walter Tyson Gervais has a Miami-Dade court record that reads like a CVS receipt. The 48-year-old has an arrest history in the county dating back to at least 1995 and has spent multiple stints in state prison after convictions for burglary and grand theft.
“This individual is a career criminal. And when I say ‘career criminal’ ― he’s been arrested so many times," South Miami Police Department Sgt. Fernando Bosch said. “He’s got more than 34 pages of criminal history.”
Now, SMPD is asking for help looking for Gervais in connection with yet another burglary.
Police said Gervais’ latest crime happened at around 3 a.m. on Tuesday.
Investigators said surveillance video shows him walking through a parking garage at 5950 SW 74th St. and “attempting to open the doors of two vehicles before entering the victim’s vehicle through the driver’s side door.”

Authorities said he removed several items from the trunk worth about $200.
A recent arrest report from the Miami Police Department identifies Gervais, whose aliases include “Walter Brooks” and “Bill Brooks,” as homeless.
Anyone who knows his location is asked to call South Miami police or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
