DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. — Two suspects were arrested over the weekend in connection with an attempted robbery and shooting that occurred in Deerfield Beach, authorities confirmed.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the incident was reported at about 7:20 p.m. Friday in the 1100 block of South Military Trail.
Deputies said two men who were known to the victim attempted to rob him at gunpoint.
During the encounter, one of the suspects fired a weapon at the victim, according to investigators.
Authorities said the victim managed to escape and was not injured.
One of the suspects, Gedarious Antwan Geffrard, 31, was taken into custody Saturday while the other suspect, Seth Jemmy Bain, 57, was arrested Sunday.
Both face charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill. Geffrard also faces charges of fleeing and eluding at a high speed, resisting without violence and various drug trafficking and possession charges.
As of Monday afternoon, both were being held at the Broward County Main Jail. Geffrard was being held without bond while Bain was being held on a $50,000 bond.
