HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — A man was hospitalized Thursday after he was shot in Broward County, according to investigators.
Authorities said 911 dispatchers received a call around 11:45 a.m. reporting that a man had been shot and was on his way to a hospital.
Deputies responded and located the victim north of Sheridan Street and 56th Avenue in Hollywood. Officials said the man was suffering from a gunshot wound.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue transported the victim to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, authorities said.
According to investigators, the shooting may have occurred near Mary Saunders Park in West Park.
Detectives with BSO’s Violent Crime Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
No other details about the victim were immediately released.
