North Miami police arrested Maxime Nelson, 51, back in February, after they said he allegedly used a shovel to break a sign and security cameras outside a salon located along the 12000 block of Northeast Sixth Avenue before taking the shovel to the shop owner’s vehicle.

It was all captured on surveillance video, police said.

On Wednesday afternoon, police said that same shop owner contacted them after she claimed that Nelson walked past her store and made a gesture, prompting the owner to tell Nelson to leave the area or she would call 911.

That prompted Nelson to wield an axe and gesture toward the victim while saying that “he would cut her head off,” according to investigators.

Authorities said after the victim called police, responding officers located Nelson about a block away with a hatchet in his possession.

As of Thursday afternoon, Nelson, who was listed as being out on felony bond, was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
