PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — Police are searching for a man who they said tried to break into a smoke shop overnight in Pembroke Park.

According to Pembroke Park police, officers responded to the store located at 3900 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd. in reference to a burglary in progress.

Police said they were told a Black male wearing all black clothing, a ski mask and long black socks was using a crowbar to try to break into the business.

But police said the man was unsuccessful and was not able to get inside.

He was last seen jumping the rear fence behind the business and heading east on foot, authorities said.

The Hallandale Beach Police Department’s K-9 Unit and BSO’s Aviation Unit responded to assist Pembroke Park police, but the man was not located.
