According to the Miramar Police Department, it happened at around 5:30 a.m. as the victims were driving in a fluorescent green Lamborghini SUV in the 2700 block of Sunshine Boulevard.

The trio crashed about a block later, according to MPD. Numerous evidence markers could be seen on the ground.

The victims were all sent to the hospital in critical condition, MPD Chief Delrish Moss told local media outlets at the scene Sunday morning.

Police said detectives are working to determine if the victims were followed into the neighborhood or if someone in the neighborhood fired the barrage of bullets into the vehicle.

“I’ll tell you, this is no way to wake up on a Sunday morning. It’s a chaotic scene, hearing multiple shots in the middle of the night, or in the wee hours of the morning, is always disturbing,” Moss said. “At this point, we don’t believe that there’s a, there is a bigger picture with regard to the neighborhood being in danger, but certainly they targeted this particular car for some reason. We’re trying to figure out why.”

Moss said a ShotSpotter alert brought officers to the scene and that there was rapid fire.

Police said that investigators have “limited suspect information” to go off of.
