Boy’s condition remains ‘very grave’ in Broward after video shows him underwater for 15 minutes

Video shows a 2-year-old boy underwater for about 15 minutes before his rescue from a house pool on Sunday morning in North Lauderdale, according to a city official.

Mike Sargis, the city of North Lauderdale manager, said a Ring surveillance camera recorded the video at a house along Pebble Beach Road, near McNab Road.

“The family started CPR,” Sargis wrote in a statement on Monday morning.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue personnel and BSO deputies responded to the house pool at about 10:30 a.m. on Sunday

The toddler was at the Broward Health Medical Center, and his condition was critical, according to Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies.

“The last we heard, the child was in very grave condition,” Sargis wrote in the statement.

At least three children have drowned this summer in Broward County.

A 2-year-old boy drowned on July 12 in a lake in Plantation.

Nearby, a 4-year-old girl drowned on July 5 in a lake in Plantation.

A 4-year-old boy drowned on June 19 in a pool in North Lauderdale.
