MIAMI — While the Tate brothers will remain locked up in a Miami federal jail for another two weeks, someone is posting to social media platform X on their behalf about conditions.
Andrew Tate says his neighbor is a cannibal that eats paint off the walls, according to a post on his X account.
Tuesday morning, he wrote, “Day ten in the special housing unit,” calling it “the worst possible conditions the U.S. government provides to terrorists and psychopaths.”
And this: “How many of Epstein’s friends were arrested by 15 U.S. marshals at gunpoint?”
Tristan and Andrew Tate are fighting extradition to the United Kingdom following 38 new charges related to rape and trafficking.
They were arrested in Miami on July 18.
The pair will remain locked up for at least two more weeks while awaiting their next hearing.
Their lawyer, Joseph McBride says they are innocent.
“When you put innocent men, or any man, in solitary confinement, at a certain period of time, they begin to deteriorate, they begin to decompensate, they begin to break down and it’s never, ever good,” McBride said.
He added, “The process is the punishment.”
While it is illegal to use cellphones in jail, it appears someone on the outside is posting to social media on their behalf.
Their lawyer, Joseph McBride, says he and his team are frequently in contact with the Tates:
“Right now, we’re speaking to them,” he said. “They’re still behind Plexiglas.”
He adds, “Andrew was a master of meditation and how he gets his message out there into the world is for our team to discuss, but we’re glad that he’s able to get it out there.”
Local 10 News reached out to the Federal Bureau of Prisons asking about conditions and the Tates’ incarceration. A post on X by Andrew Tate pointed to dirty brown drinking water.
An agency spokesperson said in a statement that comments on specific inmates cannot be made. But the statement did address the water concerns, saying, “FDC Miami receives an annual water certification from Miami-Dade Water and Sewer concerning the quality of the drinking water supply. Currently, the drinking water at FDC Miami is certified safe to drink.”
Tate also commented on a photo of a person holding a sign outside of the facility, saying, “I can see you, G.”
There have been several posts sharing an email address for anyone who wants to get in contact with the Tates. Local 10 News reporter Bridgette Matter sent an email last night with a list of questions but never heard back.
