BOCA RATON, Fla. — A boater off the coast of Boca Raton on Tuesday found the body of a 63-year-old woman convicted of murdering her mother in Hollywood in 2014, authorities said.
On Thursday, the Boca Raton Police Department identified the woman, found two miles off the South Florida coast in the Atlantic Ocean, as Patricia Brennan.
Brennan, then 51, beat and stabbed her 76-year-old mother, Regina Suknaic, at a home in the 1900 block of North 38th Avenue on May 17, 2014.
After she was stabbed and beaten, authorities said Brennan held her hostage inside the home and Suknaic could not escape until the next morning when her daughter fell asleep. She later died.
Brennan spent more than six years in state prison after being convicted of second-degree murder.
A brief social media post from BRPD did not indicate whether authorities suspected foul play.
They asked anyone with information to call 561-620-6246.
