PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. — A child was pulled from a swimming pool in Pembroke Pines Saturday afternoon after nearly drowning, according to Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue.
Fire rescue officials said they responded around 12:14 p.m. to a home near the 17000 block of Northwest 16th Street after receiving a report of a child found in a pool.
According to Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue, the child was out of the pool when crews arrived and was responsive and breathing.
Fire rescue officials said the child appeared to “have been underwater for a very brief period” and clarified that the child was not drowning when crews arrived.
The child was transported by medics to Memorial Hospital Miramar for further evaluation.
No additional information about the child’s age, gender or condition was immediately available.
