DANIA BEACH, Fla. — Dania Beach has an at-large election for mayor and vice mayor at five precincts on Nov. 3rd, according to the office of Broward County’s supervisor of elections.
The Dania Beach commission candidate who receives the most votes will be elected to a two-year term as mayor and succeed Joyce Davis, who was elected in 2020 and re-elected in 2024.
The Dania Beach candidate who gets the second-highest number of votes will be elected to a two-year term as vice mayor and succeed Marco Salvino, who was elected in 2024.
The city listed six qualified commission candidates who are campaigning for office: Maoz Druskin, Diana Fahmie, Aaron Hollis, Kevin Johnson, Colman Ryan, and Kristof Von Anderson.
Druskin filed his statement of candidacy on May 27. The Israeli Times described Druskin, 45, as an Israeli-born entrepreneur and writer. He identifies as a candidate committed to safety and supporting local businesses.
Fahmie filed her statement of candidacy on June 8. Fahmie, who has experience in real estate, identifies as a grandmother of three who will prioritize protecting the city’s charm and coastal areas.
Hollis filed his statement of candidacy on June 1. He founded KidsAlways1st, a nonprofit that focuses on crime prevention, in 2019. He identifies as someone whose work experience includes being an ice cream man and a diversion program facilitator.
Johnson filed his statement of candidacy on March 9. He earned a doctorate in business administration and sports administration from St. Thomas University and works at Florida Memorial University. He identifies as a candidate who wants the city to increase community engagement.
Ryan filed his statement of candidacy on May 26. Ryan identifies as the president of the Dania Improvement Committee, a civic organization. The Broward County Police Benevolent Association endorsed him in July.
Von Anderson filed his statement of candidacy on June 1. The U.S. Army veteran is a construction project manager who identifies as a father and a “fresh voice.”
