According to the MDSO, Darryl Frankders Johnson Jr. was riding an e-scooter just before 5:25 p.m. Sunday near Northwest 75th Street and 22nd Court, in the county’s unincorporated Gladeview area, when he and the suspect crashed, leading to an argument.

Deputies said the suspect pulled out a gun and shot Johnson, of Liberty City, before fleeing.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue medics pronounced Johnson dead at the scene.

An MDSO spokesperson said Monday that the suspect was with a child at the time of the shooting.

It was not immediately clear whether the two men knew each other prior to the crash and shooting.

Anyone with information on the case was asked to call investigators.
