FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — With a hoodie covering his head, Broward Sheriff’s Office Deputy Isaiah Williams walked out of his employer’s Main Jail in Fort Lauderdale Wednesday.
Williams, 27, was there as an inmate after Miramar police accused him of attacking his fiancee at their apartment along Southwest 45th Court, near Red Road.
He had nothing to say as Local 10 News asked him about the charges.
According to an arrest report, the victim was dropped off to their apartment by a male friend. She told police Williams was upset once she got home, called her names and hit her, causing her to fall down the stairs.
The arrest report goes on to say that Williams was on top of her and punched her in the face and as the victim turned over to protect her face, he punched the back of her head and pulled her hair.
Police said the victim told officers that Williams put his right hand under her neck and tightened his grasp, then lifted her off of the ground by her neck.
According to the report, the victim fought back, telling police Williams threatened to kill her and she reached into her purse for her gun.
They struggled for the weapon before Williams snatched it from her and took off, authorities said.
A judge ordered him to have “no firearms, weapons, or ammunition” and to not return “to any place the victim lives, works, or frequents.”
He was arrested on Monday and faced a bond court judge on Tuesday.
Williams has been on unpaid leave since his arrest.
