Woman airlifted after being bitten by family dog in Naranja

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A woman was airlifted to a Miami-Dade hospital Wednesday afternoon after being attacked and bitten by a family dog in the county’s Naranja area, authorities confirmed.

Deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said they responded to a report of the dog attack at about 1:43 p.m. near Southwest 285th Street and 143rd Court.

Deputies said they found the woman with bites to her upper and lower extremities.

They said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue airlifted the woman to Jackson South Medical Center. She was listed in stable condition.

Authorities said Miami-Dade County Animal Services was also expected to respond to the scene.

No other details about the woman’s age or identity were immediately released.
