Woman hospitalized, SUV badly damaged after crash with tree in Hallandale Beach

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. — A woman was hospitalized after a vehicle crashed into a tree in Broward County.

It happened Wednesday around 3:20 p.m. in the area of the 1000 block of Northeast Sixth Street in Hallandale Beach.

According to authorities, Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene and found a white Nissan Rogue with damage described as moderate-to-heavy and smoke coming from beneath its hood, as well as an injured woman who was outside the vehicle.

Officials said crews were quickly able to extinguish a small fire under the hood.

Rescue crews rushed the woman to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital after assessing her injuries at the scene, authorities said.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.
