HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — A refrigerator sparked a house fire in Hollywood on Tuesday.
It happened just before 10:30 a.m. in the 2800 block of Funston Street.
According to Hollywood Fire Rescue, arriving crews found a fire in the rear of the home that extended from the refrigerator “into the attic.”
Firefighters “quickly” put down the blaze, according to HFR. Nobody was hurt.
“Firefighters conducted ventilation and overhaul operations to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and to check for any remaining hot spots,” HFR spokesperson Chai Kauffman said in an email. “A Hollywood Fire Inspector and the State Fire Marshal were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. The investigation remains ongoing.”
