FLORIDA CITY, Fla. — Multiple people were injured overnight in a stabbing at an apartment complex in Florida City, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

The incident happened at the Southpoint Crossing Apartments on West Lucy Street.

MDFR officials said the call initially came in as a reported assault and stabbing.

Two patients were designated as trauma alerts and transported to a hospital by air rescue.

Their conditions were not immediately known.

A neighbor told Local 10 News that a mother and son were stabbed, but police have not yet confirmed that information.

Fire rescue officials said two other people were also treated at the scene. Their injuries and conditions were not immediately known.

The scene had cleared by Friday morning.

Local 10 News has reached out to Florida City police for additional information, including whether a suspect has been taken into custody, but have not yet received a response.
