DAVIE, Fla. — Authorities in Broward County are investigating a threat made to a high school.

Davie police officers responded to Western High School, located at 1200 SW 136th Ave. on Wednesday in regard to a bomb threat.

K-9 units were on scene to assist in the investigation, authorities said.

Ultimately, authorities said that after a thorough investigation, the threat was deemed to be a false alarm.

The school was evacuated for precautionary measures, and other schools in the immediate area were placed on a lockdown, according to Davie police.

Students returned to class after 1 p.m., according to officials.
