This Week in South Florida: Jorge Colina

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – In the city of Miami, where one commissioner is arrested on corruption charges and suspended and another was found responsible for weaponizing city government against political opponents, increasing scrutiny is now on Mayor Francis Suarez.

He is under FBI investigation and under scrutiny by a team at the Miami Herald, raising questions about using his public office for private gain.

This week, after reports that the mayor may have been working for and with the Saudi government, one of two new commissioners who campaigned to clean up City Hall called for him to resign if he is acting unethically.

There are no legal nor ethical conclusions, though some, including Miami’s former police chief, believe the writing’s on the wall.

Jorge Colina, one of Suarez’s close allies as chief, joined “This Week in South Florida” Sunday.
