Vance visits Venetian Islands for private fundraiser

Vance visits South Florida for fundraising event

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — A large motorcade traversed the Venetian Causeway on Wednesday as Vice President JD Vance visited South Florida.

“I wanted to take a look, see what’s going on in my hood,” resident John Nitkin said. “This is not a typical event so it’s great.”

The Miami Herald reports the vice president came to town to attend a private fundraising event.

Several media outlets report Vance also held a private fundraiser at the Naples Yacht Club earlier in the day.

Vance serves as finance chair for the Republican National Committee and he’s focused on helping the party raise money ahead of the midterms.

The White House has not confirmed details of the visit.

Police shut down the Venetian Causeway to cars for the reported visit. Officers searched bicycles headed deeper into the island.

“It’s great whenever we have the president or vice president come visit our community,” Nitkin said.
