HSBC’s Cherie Wachter confirmed that Eeyore was adopted after a Local 10 viewer stepped in on Saturday.

Eeyore, about 1 year and 4 months old, was found frequenting a neighborhood feeding area for cats. Shelter staff said it was unclear whether he was lost or abandoned, and no owner had come forward.

Weighing about 39 pounds, Eeyore was described as a sweet, calm dog for his age who enjoyed attention and quickly bonded with people. He may be a mix of several breeds, possibly including bully-type dogs, Boston terrier or English bulldog. Staff noted he had some scars, but his history remained unknown.

“He loves to be pet, and once you spend time with him, he just wants to stay close to you,” said Wachter.

The shelter says there are still many other pets available for adoption.

In addition to Eeyore, the shelter is also highlighting adult cats in need of homes. Binx, a 4-year-old cat, was previously adopted as a kitten but returned when his family could no longer care for him. Wachter described him as affectionate, good with people of all ages and comfortable around other cats.

Wachter said while kittens are often adopted quickly, adult cats like Binx can make equally loving companions and are ready to settle into new homes.
