Staff member Cherie Wachter said Nola is about 22 to 25 pounds and is expected to grow to roughly 40 to 50 pounds.

She is believed to be a cattle dog mix and is described as affectionate, playful and highly attentive once she bonds with people.

“She loves to give hugs, she loves to give kisses,” Wachter said, adding that Nola will need continued training, including potty training, and would do best with a family willing to spend time helping her adjust.

The shelter also has several cats available for adoption, including siblings Pookie and OJ.

Pookie is about 1 year and 2 months old, and OJ is her brother.

Staff say the pair are closely bonded and were surrendered when their family could no longer keep them due to a move. Pooky recently had a haircut to address matting, but both cats are healthy, social and available for adoption.

More information about available pets and adoption hours can be found on HSBC’s website.
