Shelter officials say the sweet, energetic pup has been waiting months for a new family after arriving at the shelter as a stray.

They say April loves swimming, playing with other dogs and meeting new people. Staff say she can get stressed in her kennel, but outside the shelter she shows off her loving, playful personality.

Officials say April is between 2 to 3 years old and is ready to find a forever home.
