Christopher D. Brayboy told Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies that he had been evicted on Aug. 7 from the home in Pompano Beach, according to a deputy’s report.

After getting an anonymous complaint, BSO deputies responded to the home on Monday along Northwest 19th Street, near Sixth Avenue, according to a deputy’s report.

“The dogs appeared underweight,” a deputy wrote, according to an arrest report.

Brayboy told deputies that the landlord had allowed him to return to the home to feed the dogs and give them water, and he was doing so every other day, according to the arrest report.

Deputies arrested Brayboy on Monday in Pompano Beach, and corrections booked him at the Broward County Main Jail in Fort Lauderdale, according to arrest and inmate records.

Broward County Animal Control took custody of the six dogs, according to deputies. Brayboy appeared in court on Tuesday, and a bond court judge ordered him to stay away from pets.

Brayboy faced six counts of aggravated animal cruelty, a third-degree felony. His bond was $21,000.
