Toney led all freshmen with 99 catches for 1,089 yards and nine touchdowns in 15 games, earning ACC Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.

He became the first Miami freshman to surpass 1,000 receiving yards in a season, highlighted by 146 yards at Virginia Tech and 135 against Louisville. He added 22 catches for 226 yards in Miami’s three playoff games.

Fitzgerald played in all 15 games, recording 15 tackles, six interceptions, one sack and two pass breakups. He had two interceptions in Miami’s College Football Playoff win over Texas A&M.

Miami has now had at least one FWAA Freshman All-American in three straight seasons. Both players are from South Florida — Fitzgerald from Christopher Columbus High School and Toney from American Heritage High School.

The Hurricanes will face Indiana in the CFP National Championship Game on Monday at Hard Rock Stadium.
