Toney led all freshmen with 99 catches for 1,089 yards and nine touchdowns in 15 games, earning ACC Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.

He became the first Miami freshman to surpass 1,000 receiving yards in a season, highlighted by 146 yards at Virginia Tech and 135 against Louisville.

He added 22 catches for 226 yards in Miami’s three playoff games, including a 36-yard touchdown vs. Ole Miss, on a screen pass from quarterback Carson Beck with just over five minutes left in the fourth quarter in the team’s 31-27 win.

Miami has now had at least one FWAA Freshman All-American in three straight seasons. Toney previously played at American Heritage High School.

The Hurricanes will face Indiana in the CFP National Championship Game on Monday at Hard Rock Stadium.
