According to a closeout memo dated Oct. 1 from the Broward County State Attorney’s Office, prosecutors will not be pursing charges against Crow as the alleged victim in the case “remains uncooperative with the prosecution of this case,” and “Neither the witnesses, nor the video surveillance, clearly establish that a battery occurred without the cooperation of the victim to describe step by step what transpired.”

Crow, 37, was arrested Aug. 29 after Fort Lauderdale police responded to his apartment after receiving a call about a domestic disturbance.

“The female 911 caller reported that a guy was choking a girl and provided the apartment number,” the memo stated. “She also advised the dispatcher that she worked in the building and her co-worker heard the defendant slam the victim to the ground inside.”

According to the closeout memo, officers arrived and met with Crow and the victim, who they identified as his live-in girlfriend, along with three witnesses.

Prosecutors said Crow and his girlfriend had first gotten into an argument outside their apartment building as they were returning home from a Dolphins’ work party.

Both had been heavily drinking and the girlfriend claimed Crow had pushed her down some stairs outside, the memo stated.

Crow, however, denied touching the victim, and claimed their argument was only verbal.

According to the memo, a witness claimed that he was walking his dog outside when he saw Crow with his arms wrapped around the victim, lifting her off the ground and telling her something in her ear.

The witness then notified security.

According to the memo, a gate attendant for the building who responded to the area told police that Crow appeared to be “throwing hits and trying to slap the victim.”

The gate attendant said Crow then tried to grab his girlfriend’s arms, but she hit him and hit his hat off his head.

When Crow spotted the gate attendant, he stopped and walked away, the memo stated.

According to prosecutors, the couple then went upstairs to their apartment.

“The witness heard the defendant say to the victim ‘your daughter’s upstairs,’ which he took as a semi-threat to get her upstairs,” the memo stated.

According to the report, the witness told police that he watched the elevator to see what floor the couple got off on and then headed up himself, at which time he heard Crow yelling at the victim inside before hitting her.

The witness said he then immediately went downstairs and told his co-worker to call police.

Officers arrived a short time later and arrested Crow on one count of misdemeanor domestic battery.

The Dolphins released a statement after his arrest, saying, “We are aware of the serious matter involving Ryan Crow and are currently gathering more information. Ryan has been placed on administrative leave effective immediately. We have been in communication with the NFL and will reserve further comment at this time.”
