MIAMI — Miami wide receiver Malachi Toney has won both Rookie of the Year and Offensive Rookie of the Year in the ACC, the conference announced Wednesday.

Toney is the first Miami player to win the league’s top rookie honor since Tyler Van Dyke in 2021. He is now the fourth Hurricane to earn an ACC rookie award, joining Duke Johnson (2012) and Brad Kaaya (2014).

Toney delivered one of the most productive debut seasons in program history, setting a Miami freshman record with 970 receiving yards. The Liberty City native finished the regular season with 84 receptions and seven touchdowns, leading all freshmen nationally in catches and ranking among the ACC’s top newcomers.

He posted at least 60 receiving yards in nine of 12 games, including four 100-yard performances. His top outings included 153 yards against Florida State and 146 yards against Virginia Tech. He closed the season at Pittsburgh with both a receiving and a passing touchdown.
