KEY LARGO, Fla. — Former Miami Dolphins coach and Pro Football Hall of Famer Jimmy Johnson said he was “really impressed” with the team’s new leadership after meeting with top Dolphins executives at his Key Largo restaurant this week.

Johnson posted a photo Friday evening on X, writing: “Really impressed with the Dolphins leadership Sullivan & Hafley.. nice visit at the Big Chill.”

The gathering took place at Johnson’s Key Largo restaurant, The Big Chill.

The photo included Johnson, former Dolphins coach Dave Wannstedt, Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan, Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley and restaurant owner Larry Calvano.

Sullivan and Hafley previously worked together with the Green Bay Packers, where Sullivan served as vice president of player personnel and Hafley was defensive coordinator.

Now reunited in South Florida, the pair already appears to be making a positive impression on some of the franchise’s most recognizable figures.

Johnson served as both head coach and general manager of the Dolphins from 1996-99, compiling a 36-28 record and leading the team to three playoff appearances. During his tenure, Miami drafted future Pro Football Hall of Famers Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas, two cornerstone players who helped define the franchise for more than a decade.

Since taking over, Hafley and Sullivan have signed all 13 members of the Dolphins’ 2026 draft class, reached a contract extension with Pro Bowl running back De’Von Achane and added quarterback Malik Willis as they look to help end a drought that has seen Miami go without a playoff victory since 2000.
