Dolphins lock up entire 2026 draft class

The deals for Johnson, the 27th overall pick out of San Diego State, and Traore, the 180th overall selection from Mississippi State, were not immediately disclosed.

Johnson, a 6-foot, 193-pound defensive back, appeared in 12 games as a freshman in 2022 before taking on a larger role in subsequent seasons.

He broke out in 2024 with 67 tackles, an interception, three forced fumbles and two defensive touchdowns.

In his senior season, Johnson started 11 games and posted four interceptions, 49 tackles (36 solo), 13 passes defended and a sack. He is expected to compete for a starting role in Miami’s secondary.

Traore’s signing completes the Dolphins’ rookie class after the team had already reached agreements with 12 other draft picks earlier in the week, including first-round offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor.

Miami selected Proctor 12th overall after a standout career at Alabama, where he started 40 games at left tackle and earned All-America and All-SEC honors in 2025. The Dolphins are expected to initially work him at left guard.

The team also previously signed or agreed to terms with wide receivers Chris Bell, Kevin Coleman Jr. and Caleb Douglas; guard DJ Campbell; tight end Will Kacmarek; edge rushers Max Llewellyn and Trey Moore; linebackers Kyle Louis and Jacob Rodriguez; and safety Michael Taaffe.

With the addition of Johnson and Traore, Miami has now signed all 13 members of its 2026 draft class.

The signings represent an early step in the right direction for new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley as they continue building out their first roster together.

The exact terms of each contract have not been released.
