Samiar Nefzi joined the Local 10 News team in August of 2023.
He joins the team after working at WLOS, the ABC affiliate in Asheville, North Carolina. There he worked as a lead nightside reporter and fill-in anchor. While in the mountains of Western North Carolina, Samiar worked on several investigations on legislation impacting South Carolina’s death penalty and unsolved cases.
Samiar was a co-host of the podcast, A Good Kid: The 22-year Murder Mystery of Zebb Quinn, which was later turned into a TV documentary following a yearlong investigation into the Quinn disappearance of 2000.

He kicked off his career in Erie, Pennsylvania at JET 24 as a fill-in anchor and reporter. He also interned at CBS’s owned and operated station, KDKA with the News Department and lifestyle show.
Samiar graduated from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with a degree in broadcast reporting.
Samiar says he is elated to join the Local 10 family and bring viewers impactful South Florida stories.
While not reporting, he enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and binge-watching the latest season of Below Deck - Captain Sandy for the win!
