During their 10-day trip around the moon, the crew of Artemis II captured thousands of striking images of the Earth, moon, stars and the solar system in sharp detail, according to NASA.
NASA has now released more than 12,000 of the star-filled photographs, making the collection available for the public to explore.
Among the highlights are images of Earth shining in its full brilliance, as well as views showing the planet peeking over the lunar surface.
Other photos bring the moon into closer focus, revealing detailed textures of its surface — including the region where the Artemis IV crew hopes to land in 2028.
The collection also includes a point-of-view image taken from inside the Orion spacecraft, showing what the four astronauts saw outside their window during the mission.
NASA officials described the image set as a first-of-its-kind look at deep space travel from the astronauts’ perspective.
