The surprising Miami Dolphins earned their fifth consecutive victory, beating the Los Angeles Chargers 29-21 Sunday. The Chargers were also outplayed on special teams, where they were hurt by two mistakes that allowed Miami to take a 14-0 lead. Jakeem Grant, the NFL leader in punt return yards, helped the Dolphins’ field position with three runbacks for 57 yards. Nick Vigil made a 44-yard return before Tagovailoa tackled him, and Herbert scored on a fourth-down sneak to make it 14-7. The first play of the game Fitzpatrick threw an interception, and the Eagles capitalized, ending their drive with a touchdown. The Dolphins run game was still deplorable with three running backs rushing for a total of 25 yards. The Dolphins next game is a tough road rivalry game against the New York Jets.

The Dolphins and Jets have been rivals and bitter enemies since about 1966. However, the Dolphins have more post season success with more super bowl appearances and wins than the Jets. The Dolphins have 5 appearances with two wins while the Jets have one appearance and one win. Adam Gase is now the Jets head coach and he would have loved to get a win against his former team. The Jets had a better running game with a total of 82 rushing yards between their two running backs.

Yesterday the Miami Dolphins played arguably the most important game at Hard Rock Stadium since, well, when was El Clsico? The results from Round 1 of the QB fight were as follows: Fitzpatrick, 2-5 for 20 yards; Rosen, 13-20, 191 yards, and one horrendous-looking interception. Head coach Brian Flores and the Dolphins should let Rosen begin failing now if he's going to fail. This Friday, Rosen should take the field the first time the Dolphins' offense lines up.
