Miami Beach police officer critically injured in crash, officials say

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — A Miami Beach police officer was critically injured after a crash Thursday evening, officials said.

The crash happened near 9th Street and Meridian Avenue.

The officer was transported by Miami Beach Fire Rescue to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
