MIAMI LAKES, Fla. — Drivers performed stunts during an intersection takeover that involved 40 to 50 cars and 70 to 80 spectators on Sunday in Miami Lakes, according to Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies.

Shawn Nunn was driving a gray Dodge Charger and “doing donuts” shortly before 1:40 a.m. in “the pit” at Northwest 158 Street, near 59 Avenue, according to MDSO deputies with the Homeland Security Bureau.

Nunn, 18, was driving the Dodge Charger shortly before 2:50 a.m. at Northwest 110 Avenue and 96 Street, near Doral, according to MDSO deputies with the Homeland Security Bureau.

Deputies arrested Nunn, of Fort Lauderdale, at 4:15 a.m. on Sunday at the Wawa gas station at 11590 NW South River Drive in Medley, according to deputies with the HS bureau’s intelligence and investigations section.

“Shortly after the criminal act was committed, the vehicle was towed, and a 30-day hold was placed on the vehicle,” a deputy wrote, according to the arrest report.

Miami-Dade corrections booked Nunn shortly after 5:40 a.m. on Sunday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, according to inmate records.

Nunn faced two counts of drag racing and coordinated street takeovers. In Florida, the charge is a first-degree misdemeanor for the first offense that can escalate to a third-degree felony.

Nunn’s bond was $5,000. Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Michelle Ashby Delancy is set to preside over the case, according to court records.
