May 18: Scattered rainy season thunderstorms to start the week

We are firmly in the rainy season and you can tell by looking at the forecast this week. Each day will have at least some chance of rain, although coverage will vary. Scattered downpours and thunderstorms are likely throughout the day today. They will be random off the Atlantic, so no way to pinpoint which cities will get the heaviest rain. We will have high rain chances even overnight.

Later this week, we will have fewer showers as a surge of drier air moves in. The pattern after Wednesday turns to a few morning showers that move west in the afternoon. This will allow high temperatures to reach 90°, which is several degrees warmer than average.
