HIALEAH, Fla. – Lennar is planning to build Royal Garden Estates, a complex of 505 homes, near a planned mega shopping mall in Northwest Miami-Dade.

An affiliate of Miami-based Lennar Corporation, one of the country's largest home builders, acquired 130.3 acres for $41 million in Hialeah. And earlier this month, spent $74 million on 142.7 acres.

The land, currently zoned for agricultural use, has two lakes that encompass about 56 acres.

The 238 townhouses and 267 single-family homes will be on a site east of Interstate 75, west of Northwest 87th Avenue and north of 154th Street.

The American Dream Miami, a mega shopping mall with 6.2 million square feet and a hotel, promises to be the largest in North America.
