We know there are many in our school system, but we seek an exemplary educator who meets the following criteria:

  • 10 or more years teaching at the elementary, middle or high school level in Broward, Miami-Dade, or Monroe counties
  • Highly innovative, applying creative teaching techniques to engage students
  • Personal story of overcoming challenges or adversity and inspiring others to do the same
  • Highly involved in community service or charity work

If you know of a teacher who meets all of the above and is long overdue for some “extra credit,” tell us about him or her.

Upload a photo of your favorite teacher below and complete all the fields to submit your nomination. You can also email your nomination and photo to goodnews@local10.com. Please keep your description to 250 words or less.

A panel will review all submissions and choose one teacher. The deadline to nominate is this Friday, May 1, at 11:59 p.m.

The chosen honoree will be revealed on Local 10 News on Friday, May 22, beginning at 10:30 a.m. as part of the Good News South Florida series.
