South Florida guide to New Year's Eve celebrations

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – If you're still deciding on where to ring in 2017, below is a list of some of the hottest celebrations going on throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

Miami-Dade County:

The Big Orange Countdown at the InterContinental Hotel

Miami Mayor Tomas Reglado will lead the traditional 6 p.m. launch of The Big Orange as it begins its ascent to the top of the hotel before the New Year's countdown.

Pitbull New Year's Eve Revolution

Pitbull will host the annual New Year's Eve celebration at Bayfront Park in downtown Miami. The event is free and open to the public.

The concert will begin at 11 p.m. and will be staged at the center of the park, just west of the Claude Pepper Fountain.

Biltmore Hotel

Watch fireworks at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables during their annual New Year's Eve gala, or dine at one of its two restaurants.

Prices for the gala start at $425 per person. The event kicks off at 8 p.m.

Miami Beach New Year's Eve Celebration

Watch fireworks for free on South Beach at Ninth Street and Ocean Drive. Fireworks begin at midnight.

Miami Children's Museum

For those with children, ring in the New Year a tad early at the Miami Children's Museum as they host a balloon drop.

Guests are asked to arrive by 11:30 a.m. Children will be able to meet ballerinas, take a ballet class and enjoy a special presentation from the dancers at Miami City Ballet.

The museum will close at 4 p.m.

Broward County:

Billy Joel at BB&T Center

The Piano Man will host a New Year's celebration at the BB&T Center for the second year in a row. Ā Tickets start at about $115 per person.

Orange Bowl Downtown Countdown

Fort Lauderdale's annual New Year's Eve celebration kicks off at 3:30 p.m. in the area of Southwest Second Street and Fifth Avenue, where children can enjoy family-friendly activities. The event will have live entertainment, a kids zone and an anchor illumination that will descend 100 feet during the countdown to 2017.

Once Is Not Enough New Year's Party at America's Backyard

America's Backyard in Fort Lauderdale will celebrate the New Year four times this weekend, once for each of the country's time zones. The celebration starts with the Times Square Ball Drop at midnight and ends with Katy Perry's "California Gurls" celebration on the West Coast at 3 a.m.

Doors open at 9 p.m. and there will be an open bar until midnight. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door.

Neon New Year's Eve at Xtreme Action Park

For a truly unique experience, head over to Xtreme Action Park's new Arena Roller Skating Rink, where roller skaters will enjoy music, food and drinks as they watch a live feed projection of the Times Square Ball Drop.

Admission is $20.17 in advance and $25 at the door.

VIP tickets, which include an open bar and buffet, are $75 in advance and $95 at the door.

Marina 84's New Year's Eve Masquerade Ball

Guests will be able to dine on complimentary Hors' doeuvres between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. and the best dressed of the night will win a $200 bar tab.

Tickets are available for $10 or $55 for an open bar option.
